ABOUT US

Why we do what we do.

Our mission of easing a family's legacy burden was born from our passion for serving both our country and our own families.  As a decorated Army Veteran and experienced attorney, I served the estate planning needs of Servicemembers and their families for over twenty years.

My wife Mindy and I personally witnessed the heartache that comes when an Armed Forces member finds that their expected military benefits are denied because the necessary forms were not properly completed.  We also saw the near panic of a military spouse when her Soldier didn't provide the power of attorney necessary to pay the bills.  The failure to have a comprehensive and executable estate plan left too many families burdened with the chaos that came both in the loss of their loved one's presence and benefits.

When we retired from the Army and moved back to North Texas, our passion for easing a family's legacy burden became personal when my mom was diagnosed with Lou Gehrig's Disease, commonly known as ALS.  After her diagnosis, my mom asked me to help her update her estate plan and to serve as both the executor and trustee of her revocable trust.  I am an experienced attorney who advised hundreds of Servicemembers and their families on estate planning and administration, so I knew what needed to be done and how to do it.

Over the next several months, I updated all the legal documents, financial and banking forms, deeds, and titles to ensure my mom's immediate needs were met and to ensure her lasting legacy.  What I did not anticipate was the pain and grief of losing my mother, and how it would affect my ability to perform my duties as executor and trustee. Even with the help from Mindy, the burden was just too much.  We did some research and discovered there was no personal estate administration help to be found.

It was then that we decided that we could be that missing resource.  Our mission is to help ease the burden of estate planning and administration for North Texas families and their legacies, just like we have for our own families and for military families.
